Job Description
Editorial and media professionals auditing AI-generated work for Mercor’s frontier AI training projects. Reviewing realism, factual accuracy, grading, and practitioner usability without redoing tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Audit AI work product in the applicant's professional field
- Review the task as written, the AI agent's work, produced files, and AI grader's scoresheet
- Assess whether tasks are realistic and relevant to the profession
- Verify domain content, standards, figures, regulations, terminology, and constraints
- Review and challenge the grader's yes/no assessments
- Independently band the work and assess whether a practitioner could use or accept it
- Compare the reported score against the independent band
- Write a short reason for every judgment
- Complete approximately one item per hour
- Provide professional judgment without performing or redoing the underlying task
Requirements:
- 4+ years editing other people's copy to a house style, with responsibility for what was published; or 4+ years reporting and filing own stories with sourcing to stand behind; or 4+ years cutting finished pieces on a professional timeline, delivered to a client or broadcast specification
- Near-native business English
- Comfort with spreadsheets or PDFs to check whether numbers reconcile
- Relevant professional experience in editorial, news analysis/reporting/journalism, or film and video editing
- Must be an independent contractor
- H1-B and STEM OPT candidates are not supported
