Job Description
Senior Medical Editor refining pharmaceutical advertising, presentations, and corporate communications for EVERSANA INTOUCH. Ensuring medical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and editorial quality across client projects.
Responsibilities:
- Perform medical editing, copyediting, proofreading, and fact checking of digital and print pharmaceutical advertising materials, internal and external presentations, and corporate communications
- Edit for language clarity, consistency, brand and messaging accuracy, balance, tone, cohesiveness, flow, organization, style, grammar, spelling, typographical errors, and formatting
- Fact check materials to ensure comprehensive and accurate support for claims
- Participate in development and content review processes throughout all stages of projects
- Review content for spelling, grammar, clarity, creative-brief fulfillment, client and AMA style, and accurate referencing
- Follow up with Creative, Copywriters, and Account on content revisions
- Interface with Creative, Account, Project Management, and other teammates to prioritize projects and facilitate completion
- Resolve project-detail questions with Account and/or Project Management independently
- Represent the department at internal kickoff and status meetings
- Ensure materials comply with client-specific medical, regulatory, and legal requirements
- Develop and maintain style guides for clients and brands
- Train and mentor junior team members as needed
- Lead or co-lead team initiatives and create best-practice and process documentation
- Alert Editorial Directors to editorial process or quality concerns and collaborate to address issues
- Demonstrate commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent education plus professional experience) required
- 5+ years of editing experience in the healthcare and/or pharmaceutical industry required
- At least 1 year of experience in the advertising and/or marketing industry preferred
- Thorough knowledge of AMA (10th edition) style and familiarity with AP style
- Experience with medical/regulatory/legal reviews
- Familiarity with FDA requirements for drug promotion
- Ability to understand medical/scientific terminology
- Extremely detail oriented, thorough and accurate
- Proven experience managing rapidly shifting priorities and deadlines in high-pressure situations
- Ability to take ownership, be accountable and work independently
- Digitally savvy with excellent verbal, written, organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work and edit within Microsoft Office suite of products as well as Adobe Acrobat Professional
