Job Description
Energy Advisor helping Power TakeOff’s utility customers implement data-driven energy-saving actions. Managing customer pipelines, analyzing smart-meter data, and verifying energy savings remotely.
Responsibilities:
- Recruit and engage business, institutional, and commercial customers through email and phone calls
- Own pipelines and accounts end-to-end, strengthening long-term account management
- Manage a larger and more complex portfolio to yield more kWh savings
- Lead client meetings and answer customer questions accurately
- Provide recommendations and remote support for participants implementing energy-saving actions
- Analyze data to prioritize accounts, adjust outreach approaches, make decisions, and track savings goals
- Explain how metrics inform recommendations and decisions
- Use data to recommend actions for common facility types
- Monitor smart meter data after recommended changes are implemented
- Work with the internal Measurement and Verification team to confirm energy savings
- Identify areas for continuous improvement in the Energy Advisor role and processes
- Troubleshoot common issues and provide informal guidance within the pod
- Participate in knowledge-sharing, team discussions, and efforts to build a positive team environment
- Strategize to accomplish individual goals that support team success
- Adapt to change and persist through challenges
Requirements:
- At least 1 year of customer-facing demand-side management (DSM) experience, including energy auditing or energy advising in commercial, industrial, or residential settings
- 2+ years of professional experience, preferably in sales or business development
- 6+ months of experience engaging prospective participants through cold calls, emails, and meetings
- 6+ months of experience collaboratively problem-solving with prospective businesses and implementing energy-saving actions
- Experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce or Outreach.io
- Experience with data analysis and interpretation to identify and solve problems
- Knowledge of energy efficiency concepts and application
- Effective sales skills and motivation to achieve goals
- Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with customers and colleagues
- Positive and professional communication under pressure
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work in a remote team environment and give and receive feedback
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Bilingual abilities are a plus
