Job Description

Energy Advisor III helping utility customers reduce consumption through Power TakeOff’s DSM software and services. Managing customer engagement, energy-saving recommendations, data analysis, and savings verification.

Responsibilities:

  • Recruit and engage business, institutional, and commercial customers through email and phone calls
  • Provide recommendations and remote support for participants implementing energy-saving actions
  • Monitor smart meter data after recommended changes are implemented
  • Collaborate with the internal Measurement and Verification (M&V) team to confirm energy savings
  • Manage large, multi-faceted projects as a subject matter expert
  • Manage complex client accounts with potential to drive notable energy savings
  • Build strategic relationships with customer decision-makers and influencers
  • Lead high-stakes meetings with senior client stakeholders
  • Navigate difficult conversations, negotiations, and complex objections
  • Strategically manage customer portfolios and mitigate potential roadblocks
  • Analyze data to make recommendations, prioritize tasks, identify patterns, forecast risks, and refine team approaches
  • Coach others on outreach and customer retention strategies
  • Recommend operational and Energy Advisor experience improvements to Team Leads
  • Troubleshoot common issues and provide informal guidance within the pod
  • Participate in knowledge-sharing, team discussions, and efforts to build a positive team environment

Requirements:

  • At least two years of customer-facing demand-side management (DSM) experience, including energy auditing or energy advising in commercial, industrial, or residential settings
  • 3+ years of professional experience, preferably in sales or business development
  • 1+ years of experience engaging prospective participants through cold calls, emails, and meetings
  • 1+ years of experience collaboratively problem solving with prospective businesses and implementing energy-saving actions
  • 1+ years of experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce or Outreach.io and other software tools for organizing customer engagement pipelines, tracking, reporting, and maintaining internal records
  • 1+ years of experience with analysis and data interpretation to identify and solve problems
  • Strong knowledge of energy efficiency concepts and application
  • Stellar sales skills and motivation to achieve goals
  • Positive relationship-building with customers and colleagues
  • Consistently positive and professional communication under pressure
  • Self-motivation and strong work ethic
  • Ability to work in a remote team environment and give and receive feedback
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus
  • Travel is not expected for this position
