Job Description
Engineering Manager guiding Java/Go microservices and technical strategy for Ajaib’s digital bank. Building resilient, high-performance engineering organizations.
Responsibilities:
- Drive the long-term technical direction for high-traffic microservices
- Ensure backend systems achieve strong observability, performance, and financial-grade security
- Bridge C-suite objectives and engineering execution
- Manage stakeholder expectations and resource allocation
- Own the technical roadmap for the Digital Bank
- Coach and mentor engineering leaders
- Cultivate a high-performance culture based on accountability, technical excellence, and professional growth
- Refine engineering processes to increase innovation throughput
- Identify and eliminate systemic bottlenecks while maintaining speed and stability
Requirements:
- 8+ years in software engineering
- 3+ years managing multiple teams in a high-concurrency environment (e.g., 30M+ transactions/users)
- Proven experience building and scaling engineering organizations of 30-60+ people
- Authoritative knowledge of modern system design and distributed state management
- Experience with large-scale backend environments
- Experience architecting Java/Go services and SQL layers for durability and sub-millisecond performance
- Knowledge of event-driven architectures, including Kafka/RabbitMQ
- Experience orchestrating complex asynchronous workflows in a regulated financial environment
- Fluent in English
- Ability to translate complex architectural risks into business-level decisions for the Board of Directors
