  • Address biometric re-authentication, extended sessions, layered access policies, and regulatory audit requirements
  • Participate in the IAM team’s weekly on-call rotation
  • Own observability, monitoring, alerting, uptime, incident metrics, and incident response
  • Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, coach, and develop engineers
  • Conduct 1:1s, create development plans, provide stretch assignments, and address team conflict
  • Set expectations, provide feedback, conduct performance reviews, and address underperformance
  • Translate product requirements into technical plans, estimate capacity and timelines, and deliver against estimates
  • Own the team roadmap and daily prioritization
  • Track delivery metrics and report them in monthly operating reviews
  • Set IAM’s technical direction and translate company strategy into team-level work through RFCs, PRD input, and tickets
  • Communicate status, progress, and risk to stakeholders, senior leadership, and external partners
  • Connect technical work to business outcomes and make cost-benefit trade-offs explicit
  • Model AI coding tool usage, establish review/testing/attribution standards, and develop the team’s AI practices
  • Create room for experimentation and learning from failed experiments

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of professional software experience
  • 1+ years directly managing a team of Software Engineers while staying hands-on in the code
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Professional experience with Go, or another statically typed backend language with a clear path to Go
  • Production experience with cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes or a comparable container orchestration platform
  • Experience with PostgreSQL or another relational database and ANSI SQL
  • Experience designing modern distributed systems and APIs
  • Experience with Docker for local development
  • Experience with Protocol Buffers, OpenAPI, or Swagger
  • Deep understanding of the full software development lifecycle, continuous integration, and release strategy
  • Hands-on experience using agentic coding tools on a production codebase
  • Ability to track key metrics and meet established Service Level Agreements
  • Ability to break down ambiguous technical problems and identify risks early
  • Ability to pick up and ship work in the team's codebases
  • E-Verify employment eligibility confirmation for newly hired employees
  • IAM experience with Auth0, Okta, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, multi-tenant architecture, RBAC/ABAC/policy-based access control, SAML 2.0, OIDC, and SCIM is highly desired but not required
