Job Description
Experienced Staff Accountant supporting AAFCPAs’ outsourced accounting clients. Handling payables, receivables, payroll, reconciliations, compliance, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing, payroll processing, accounting review and reconciliation, and reporting support
- Complete rotational assignments across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Reconciliation, Compliance and Financial Reporting
- Work with the Accounting Manager to develop plans and measurable goals for each rotational assignment
- Code invoices to appropriate general ledger accounts and process client vendor invoices
- Download and code credit card transactions and input data into accounting systems
- Review and reconcile vendor invoices and A/P ledgers monthly; identify missing items and address discrepancies
- Set up new vendors and administer W-9s
- Post customer payments and prepare client invoices
- Download and enter revenues from third-party applications or banks
- Review and monitor open receivables
- Reconcile payroll, process client payroll, and manage payroll deductions and workflow
- Maintain employee records and payroll files
- Prepare periodic and year-end reports for state and federal agencies and accurate W-2 reporting
- Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for clients and Boards of Directors
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent training required
- 1-3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in public accounting
- Previous payroll, payables, receivables and reconciliation experience desired
- Strong technology skills using Microsoft Office 2007 or later, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Experience with accounting systems; QuickBooks desktop and online versions and Intacct preferred
- Must meet additional technology requirements communicated to selected candidates on an ongoing basis
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Team player with a positive “can-do” approach
- Time management skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Able to learn new technology skills and systems and apply them quickly
- Timely, consistent and accurate delivery of assignments
- Demonstrated understanding of accounting practices and regulations and ability to apply them accurately
