Job Description
Senior accounting manager overseeing SEC reporting, technical accounting, and US GAAP for global ride-hailing company. Managing complex transactions, disclosures, policies, auditors, and SOX readiness.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the subject matter expert on complex transactions, including M&A and business combinations (ASC 805), financing transactions, revenue recognition (ASC 606), impairment, financial instruments and foreign currency matters.
- Prepare and review SEC-style financial statements, footnotes and disclosures, and help build public-company-standard reporting processes.
- Research, document and conclude on technical accounting matters under US GAAP, drafting position memos and related journal entries.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies across global entities and align them with new standards and SEC guidance.
- Partner with global accounting teams, FP&A, Legal and HR to evaluate the accounting impact of deals, financings, commercial arrangements and new initiatives.
- Work with external auditors to align on accounting conclusions, support audit reviews and resolve technical issues.
- Own issues end to end and provide clear recommendations.
- Support internal control design and SOX readiness for technical accounting and reporting processes.
Requirements:
- Active CPA license.
- 8 to 12 years of experience, including Big 4 audit or advisory and technical accounting or SEC reporting for a public filer.
- Hands-on US GAAP expertise in M&A, financing transactions and revenue recognition, plus impairment, financial instruments and FX.
- Experience at technology or IT companies with revenue between $500M and $2.5B is a strong plus.
- NetSuite experience is a plus.
- Strong research and memo-writing skills.
- Ability to drive conclusions on technical matters and explain them clearly to auditors, management and non-accountants.
- Independent problem-solving and strong ownership.
- Effective cross-functional partnership and comfort working with global teams across time zones.
- Based in the United States, in the Eastern or Central time zone.
