Job Description
Accounting Expert evaluating AI-generated accounting responses for Mercor’s frontier-model training projects. Applying GAAP/IFRS expertise to improve financial-reporting, auditing, and tax reasoning.
Responsibilities:
- Compare two AI-generated responses to the same accounting prompt and determine which is better
- Review provided input files and each model’s reasoning/thought process
- Explain why one output outperforms the other, citing correctness, GAAP/IFRS compliance, and reasoning quality
- Provide written feedback to the research team to improve model behavior
- Participate in onboarding and specialty calibration sessions
- Evaluate challenging accounting problems involving financial statements, auditing, and tax
Requirements:
- 2+ years of professional experience in accounting, audit, or tax
- CPA (or equivalent) and/or a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Fluent in GAAP and/or IFRS and financial-statement analysis
- Excellent written communication
- High attention to detail
- Must be able to work as an independent contractor
- H1-B or STEM OPT candidates are not supported
