Job Description
Experienced Staff Accountant delivering outsourced AP, AR, payroll, reconciliation, and financial reporting services. Supporting AAFCPAs’ nonprofit and commercial clients through rotational assignments.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing, Payroll processing, accounting review and reconciliation, and reporting support to the team and multiple clients
- Complete rotational assignments in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Reconciliation, Compliance and Financial Reporting
- Work with the Accounting Manager to develop plans and measurable goals for each rotational assignment
- Code invoices to appropriate GL accounts and process client vendor invoices
- Download and code credit card transactions and input data into accounting systems
- Review and reconcile vendor invoices and A/P ledgers monthly; identify missing items and address discrepancies
- Set up new vendors and administer W-9s
- Post customer payments, prepare client invoices, enter revenues and monitor open receivables
- Reconcile and process client payroll, including deductions, benefits, taxes and wage garnishments
- Maintain employee records and payroll files
- Prepare periodic and year-end reporting to state and federal agencies, including W-2 reporting
- Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for clients and Boards of Directors
- Learn and use Bill.com, ADP RUN and ADP WorkforceNOW
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent training required
- 1-3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in public accounting
- Previous payroll, payables, receivables and reconciliation experience desired
- Strong technology skills using Microsoft Office 2007 or later, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Experience with accounting systems, QuickBooks (desktop and online versions) and Intacct preferred
- Additional technology requirements must be met on an ongoing basis
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills

- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
- Able to learn new technology skills and systems and apply them quickly
- Timely, consistent and accurate delivery of assignments
- Demonstrated understanding of accounting practices and regulations and ability to apply them accurately
