Job Description

Experienced tax preparer managing federal and state returns for Polished Talent Group’s tax network. Building clients, supporting operations, and maintaining IRS compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review individual federal and state income tax returns
  • Maintain accurate client documentation and tax records
  • Conduct client interviews and collect required tax documentation
  • Follow IRS due diligence requirements and tax preparation standards
  • Maintain confidentiality of taxpayer information
  • Communicate with clients regarding return status, documentation needs, and filing requirements
  • Ensure returns are accurate and complete before submission
  • Assist with tax season workflow and client management
  • Participate in required training, compliance updates, and tax season meetings
  • Build and maintain a personal tax client portfolio
  • Develop strategies to attract new clients and increase tax return volume
  • Promote the tax business through marketing, networking, and community engagement
  • Recruit and build a team of tax preparers
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support throughout tax season
  • Manage daily operations of the tax business
  • Oversee client workflow and tax season processes
  • Monitor submitted returns and funded return activity
  • Deliver excellent customer service and build lasting client relationships
  • Educate clients throughout the tax preparation process
  • Take ownership of business goals, growth, and results

Requirements:

  • Active IRS Electronic Filing Identification Number (EFIN) required
  • Valid PTIN required
  • Previous individual income tax preparation experience
  • Knowledge of federal and state tax filing requirements
  • Familiarity with tax preparation software
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and client service skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines during tax season
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and IRS compliance standards
  • Candidates must already possess an active EFIN and have prior tax preparation experience
