Job Description
Sales Tax Associate preparing sales tax returns and researching tax issues for ConnectCPA’s virtual accounting firm. Reviewing bookkeeping and managing multiple remote clients.
Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple clients simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Prepare sales tax returns
- Research tax issues and draft CRA letters
- Perform ad hoc bookkeeping reviews
- Collaborate with clients and team members in a virtual accounting firm
- Contribute to workflow improvements and firm culture
Requirements:
- Experience in a similar role or bookkeeping for 3+ years
- Excellent understanding of how an accounting system works
- Working knowledge and experience with Xero or QBO is an asset
- Designated CPA preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to manage multiple clients and tasks
- Familiarity with task tracking tools such as Karbon, ClickUp, Monday, or Asana
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting
- Ability to learn new software quickly
- Knowledge of bookkeeping, invoicing, payables, tax rates, and year-ends
- Experience with Xero, QBO, Hubdoc, and Dext is a big plus
- Internet speed of at least 6Mbps upload/download
