Job Description

Field Application Engineer für kundenspezifische Automatisierungslösungen bei internationalem Industrieunternehmen. Programmierung, Inbetriebnahmen und technische Kundenberatung im süddeutschen Raum.

Responsibilities:

Provide technical advice and support to customers on complex automation projects
Take over projects from the Sales team and provide in-depth technical support in collaboration with customers from the evaluation and concept phase onward
Develop and implement customer-specific automation solutions
Support the migration of existing control solutions to new automation platforms
Program and customize PLC controls, visualizations, and customer-specific software modules
Support prototypes, testing, and commissioning activities directly at customer sites
Analyze existing machine and system concepts and assess technical implementation options
Work closely with Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and other internal departments
Identify additional application opportunities and cross-selling potential within existing customer projects
Capture customer requirements and feature requests and forward them to the relevant internal departments

Requirements:

University degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Information Technology, Mechatronics, or a comparable technical qualification
Several years of practical experience in automation engineering
Strong knowledge of PLC programming and a well-developed understanding of control and automation systems
Experience with Siemens TIA and/or CODESYS-based control systems
Knowledge of industrial communication and fieldbus technologies such as PROFINET or EtherCAT
Experience commissioning and technically implementing complex machine and system solutions
Broad, end-to-end technical understanding
Strong customer and solution orientation
Commercial mindset and the ability to identify additional application opportunities for customers
Independent, structured, and hands-on approach to work
Very good German and good English skills
Willingness to make regular customer visits, particularly in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, with occasional visits to Austria and Switzerland expected in the future
Knowledge of high-level programming languages such as C/C++, C#, Python, or Rust is an advantage but not essential
