Job Description
Field CTO focusing on long-term technology strategy and executive decision-making for federal initiatives. Collaborating with sales, product, and engineering teams at F5.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design of end-to-end solution architectures aligned to customer business goals and technical environments
- Own the technical strategy for complex and high-value opportunities, supporting deals from discovery through close
- Serve as a trusted advisor to customers, guiding architecture decisions and long-term technology direction
- Deliver advanced presentations, demonstrations, and proof-of-concepts tailored to executive and technical audiences
- Influence customer decisions by addressing complex technical challenges and objections
- Partner with sales, product, and engineering teams to align solutions with market needs and product strategy
- Develop and nurture relationships with key customers, stakeholders, and technology partners
- Contribute to solution playbooks, reusable assets, and global enablement initiatives
- Provide mentorship and guidance to other solutions engineers and architects
- Represent the company externally through thought leadership, industry engagement, or customer forums
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in solutions architecture, pre-sales engineering, or technical consulting
- Proven ability to lead complex technical engagements and influence customer decisions
- Strong experience designing enterprise architectures (cloud, security, networking, or related domains)
- Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to both technical and executive audiences
- Experience working cross-functionally with sales, product, and engineering teams
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to operate in ambiguous, high-impact scenarios
- Deep understanding of modern architectures (cloud, containers, APIs, distributed systems)
- Experience supporting large enterprise or strategic accounts
- Background in cloud, SaaS, cybersecurity, or infrastructure technologies
- Experience with Kubernetes, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), or similar ecosystems
- Experience influencing product direction or contributing to go-to-market strategies
