Job Description
Field Service Engineer maintaining Leica Biosystems cancer-diagnostic equipment for demonstrations, training, and field service. Troubleshooting electromechanical, software, and network-connected systems across customer environments.
Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, maintain and optimize Leica Biosystems systems for customer demonstrations, training activities and workflow simulations
- Prepare, inspect, verify and troubleshoot demonstration assets according to workshop priorities
- Manage configuration, calibration, verification, upgrades and readiness checks for equipment, accessories and software
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues across platforms, electromechanical systems, software and network-connected components
- Complete maintenance, repair, modification and quality verification activities according to Leica Biosystems standards and applicable quality requirements
- Partner with workshop colleagues, sales, applications, product specialists and service teams to deliver reliable customer demonstrations
- Report to the Manager EDC Workshop within the EMEA Customer Excellence organization
- Support the Commercial Workshop and European Demonstration Centre in Nussloch
- Travel for field service, the Newcastle demo laboratory, customer demonstrations, training and cross-functional technical activities
Requirements:
- Biomedical or Engineering experience with an associate degree OR equivalent technical work experience
- Preferred knowledge of the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of Pathology instruments
- Strong technical troubleshooting capability across electromechanical and electronic systems, optics, platforms, and software
- Knowledge of PC hardware, networking principles, firmware updates, software installation, and system connectivity
- Exposure to Windows and Linux preferred
- Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences and collaborate effectively across international teams
- Fluent English and German language capability
- Experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining pathology instruments or similar scientific and clinical instrumentation is a plus
- Experience working in a regulated environment with ISO, FDA, or similar quality requirements is a plus
- Ability to work in a workshop and technical service environment, including safe handling, movement and preparation of Leica Biosystems equipment
- Awareness of applicable quality, safety and compliance requirements relevant to medical device service, pathology systems and workshop operations
