Job Description
Field Service Engineer servicing Instron materials testing systems across Texas. Calibrating, installing, troubleshooting, and training customers on mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Travel to customer facilities throughout Texas
- Perform preventive maintenance
- Calibrate equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment
- Install and commission new systems
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues
- Provide technical guidance and hands-on training to customers
- Complete service documentation, field reports, and expense reports
- Maintain professionalism and customer satisfaction during service visits
- Follow company and customer safety procedures
- Support customers with occasional travel outside the region for training, customer support, or special projects
Requirements:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field preferred
- Military technical experience or trade school training may be considered in place of a degree
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
- Comfortable working with Windows-based computers and technical software
- Excellent organization, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Previous field service experience is advantageous
- Preventive or corrective maintenance experience on electro-mechanical or servo-hydraulic equipment is advantageous
- Experience with materials testing systems is advantageous
- Experience delivering technical training to customers is advantageous
- Industrial automation or controls experience is advantageous
- Ability to travel throughout Texas and occasionally to other regions
- Approximately 75% routine overnight travel
