Job Description
Field Service Engineer performing inspections, testing, and operational audits on boilers and environmental equipment. Requires extensive travel and collaboration with senior engineers and clients.
Responsibilities:
- A Field Service Engineer works independently or with more experienced engineers in performing inspections, tuning, operational audits, pre-commissioning testing on boilers and environmental equipment, and writes estimates and proposals.
- Collecting and evaluating field data.
- Working with customers, account executives, vendors and sublet vendors with assistance and guidance from District Engineer or senior engineer.
- Preparing technical reports including service and special reports.
- Working as part of commissioning teams on project startups
- Performing site activities including: boiler inspections, condition assessments and boiler operation evaluations
- Providing construction technical support and outage management
- Works on estimates and proposals for equipment upgrades
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED, Vocational/Technical, or Associate’s Degree minimum requirement, or 8+ years of experience.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills
- Ability and desire to travel
- Decision making or problem solving authority with little to no supervisory review
- Assess equipment needs at a customer site, conduct walk downs and inspections of functioning equipment
- Troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment at a customer site
