Job Description
Finance Specialist evaluating AI model outputs and building finance rubrics for Mercor’s frontier-model training projects. Applying deep professional finance expertise to improve next-generation AI systems.
Responsibilities:
- Guide research and engineering teams on financial reasoning, analysis, and decision-making
- Design challenging, domain-relevant finance tasks
- Write accurate, well-reasoned solutions grounded in real financial practice
- Evaluate AI model outputs against structured rubrics
- Provide written feedback on correctness, judgment, and reasoning quality
- Develop and refine finance-specific evaluation guidelines and scoring rubrics
- Collaborate with subject-matter experts to ensure consistency and accuracy in training data
- Work on projects focused on training and enhancing AI systems
Requirements:
- 8+ years of dedicated professional experience in finance
- Experience at a recognized, top-tier organization or equivalent
- Hands-on experience evaluating LLM/AI model outputs against rubrics or structured scoring criteria; mandatory
- Demonstrable career progression, such as Analyst → Associate → VP/Director
- Ability to engage reliably for at least 35 hours/week during weekdays
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Problem-solving skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Must not require H1-B or STEM OPT sponsorship
- United States location requirement
