Job Description
Senior Director of Finance guiding planning, analytics, and commercial strategy for a Sage Intacct partner serving construction businesses. Leading scalable Finance operations and executive decision support.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the leadership team on company planning, investment decisions, organizational priorities, and growth initiatives
- Act as financial business partner to department leaders
- Translate financial and operational data into actionable insights
- Partner with the Head of People & Organizational Effectiveness on workforce and organizational planning
- Build business cases, model scenarios, assess ROI and risk, and articulate tradeoffs
- Own annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, long-range planning, and monthly performance reporting
- Build financial models and business cases for investments, offerings, organizational changes, headcount planning, and growth initiatives
- Own performance against EBITDA, partner incentives, recurring revenue, and other strategic metrics
- Identify emerging financial and commercial risks and opportunities
- Connect financial planning to the broader strategic plan
- Partner with the CEO on board and investor reporting
- Lead, develop, and partner with the Controller and broader Finance team
- Establish operating rhythms, controls, reporting standards, and accountability across Finance
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and improve Finance operations
- Oversee financial components of the order-to-revenue lifecycle, including deal booking, billing readiness, provisioning coordination, and cross-functional handoffs
- Improve Finance systems, processes, and automation
- Own strategic revenue and commercial analytics covering pipeline health, bookings, revenue performance, renewals, retention, and churn
- Analyze customer and product segmentation, retention and churn trends, expansion opportunities, and service-line economics
- Support pricing, packaging, and investment decisions through financial modeling
- Partner with Sales leadership on forecasting and pipeline analytics
Requirements:
- 7–12+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, strategic finance, or finance leadership
- Experience ideally within a PE-backed, high-growth, or professional services environment
- Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities
- Ability to independently build and evaluate multi-year forecasts, investment and ROI models, pricing scenarios, and complex business cases
- Strategic and commercial mindset extending beyond Finance
- Ability to translate financial performance, operational dynamics, and market opportunities into recommendations for growth
- Exceptional executive communication skills
- Ability to distill complex financial information into clear insights and recommendations for senior leadership, investors, and board-level audiences
- Proven leadership capability and experience developing high-performing teams
- Ability to set clear expectations and create accountability while empowering others
- Sound judgment, humility, and self-awareness
- Strong ownership and a bias toward action
- Comfortable operating in a growing organization where priorities evolve
- Experience within professional services, SaaS, construction technology, or channel/partner-based business models is a nice-to-have
- Experience in a PE-backed environment and familiarity with investor reporting, value-creation initiatives, and private-equity ownership is a nice-to-have
- Familiarity with Sage Intacct or similar cloud-based financial management platforms is a nice-to-have
- Exposure to AI, automation, or technology-enabled business transformation is a nice-to-have
- Experience supporting M&A, due diligence, integration, or strategic acquisitions is a nice-to-have
- Quantitative and business strategy background through finance, economics, engineering, or another analytically rigorous discipline is a nice-to-have
