Job Description
Financial Aid Officer advising Ancora Education students on Title IV funding, FAFSA, and loan counseling. Managing verification, compliant packaging, documentation, and CampusVue records.
Responsibilities:
- Advise incoming, continuing, and re-entry students on the availability of Title IV funds and resources to cover educational costs
- Answer student questions regarding completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and Direct Loan Entrance/Exit Counseling
- Complete verification on applications selected by the Department of Education
- Resolve conflicting information between financial aid documents and other documents in student files
- Conduct financial aid estimates for students interested in enrollment
- Submit student files promptly for Campus Compliance Specialist review while maintaining a low error rate
- Communicate with admissions personnel to ensure future enrollments have appropriate documentation for packaging
- Upload files into the CampusVue operating system
- Provide the Campus President with updates on students who have not submitted documentation required to receive Title IV funding
- Advise students about Institutional Payment Plans and facilitate completion of the IPP process where appropriate
- Use and track activities in CampusVue
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Work directly with the Campus President to develop improvements to the quality and environment of the Financial Aid Department
Requirements:
- High School Diploma (GED acceptable) from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
- 1 year of experience in a customer service-related field
- Ability to multitask while maintaining organization
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
- Must not be in default on any federal student loan
- Associate’s degree or higher from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (preferred)
- 1 year of prior experience in Financial Aid (preferred)
- Experience with CampusVue (preferred)
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
