Job Description

Global Commodity Manager at Jabil developing sourcing strategies for cable commodities. Leading negotiations, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost reduction initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement global commodity strategies for cable commodity, including supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management.
  • Lead complex negotiations with key suppliers to achieve cost savings, optimize terms and conditions, and secure long-term supply agreements.
  • Conduct market research and supplier analysis to identify new sourcing opportunities, mitigate risks, and stay abreast of industry trends.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and program management teams to define material requirements and ensure successful product launches.
  • Manage supplier relationships, monitor performance against key metrics (cost, quality, delivery, service), and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including geopolitical events, natural disasters, and supplier financial instability.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives through value engineering, design optimization, and leverage of global volumes.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant corporate policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare, write-up and present regular reports on commodity performance, market trends, and strategic initiatives to senior leadership.
  • Support Jabil's sustainability goals by partnering with suppliers committed to ethical and environmentally responsible practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in global commodity management, strategic sourcing, or procurement within a manufacturing or electronics environment.
  • Proven track record of successful negotiation, cost reduction, and supplier relationship management.
  • Proven track record of leading or actively supporting design-in activities. Capable of handling basic technical questions about cables.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain principles, market dynamics, and commodity pricing.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency in intermediate or advanced Excel skills.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, global, and matrixed organization.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required (up to 25%).
  • CPM or CPSM certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Rapid response) is a bonus.
