Job Description
Group Product Manager leading H&R Block’s SMB accounting and bookkeeping products. Owning mobile strategy, product outcomes, AI opportunities, and Product Manager development.
Responsibilities:
- Define and lead the product vision, strategy, roadmap, OKRs, and success metrics for the SMB Accounting group
- Own accounting and bookkeeping product decisions, balancing usability, accuracy, and compliance
- Partner with Tax and cross-platform counterparts to unify accounting and tax workflows
- Own and evolve the mobile accounting experience and align engineering, design, and business stakeholders on mobile direction
- Develop a high-performing team using continuous product discovery best practices and modern SDLC methodologies
- Lead user research, roadmap and backlog management, and hypothesis-driven experimentation
- Inspire, align, and influence across engineering, design, and business functions
- Secure resources, coordinate technology and design work, and navigate cross-functional challenges and dependencies
- Craft business cases, understand financial impacts, and define and execute business and customer benefit OKRs
- Use data to prioritize opportunities, demonstrate product value, and impact KPIs
- Identify opportunities for AI to improve team productivity and embed customer value in the accounting product
- Foster continuous improvement through retrospectives, coaching, and refinement of team processes
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data-related field, or a related discipline, or the equivalent through a combination of education and relevant work experience
- Direct experience in the small business accounting or tax software space
- Understanding of SMB customers, financial workflows, and earning trust with their books
- Proven experience defining and delivering mobile product experiences; mobile product delivery experience is a hard requirement
- Deep SaaS product-building experience, ideally across early-stage and scaled environments, focused on financial or business services
- Ability to identify and leverage AI-enabled capabilities and workflows
- Strong people leadership experience, including leading Product Managers, developing talent, setting priorities, and building high-performing teams
- Proven ability to define product strategy, derive requirements, analyze trade-offs, and prioritize investments across multiple teams and stakeholders in a matrixed environment
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to explain technical and financial concepts clearly to non-technical audiences and influence senior stakeholders
- Strong business acumen, including building business cases, evaluating trade-offs, and aligning product investments to customer value, company priorities, and financial outcomes
- 8+ years of experience in product management, including leading large mission-critical products involving significant business and technology change
- Minimum of 2+ years managing people
