Job Description
Home Care Worker supporting Silverchain’s aged-care clients with household assistance, meals, transport, and social support. Casual role serving Ngunnawal and surrounding Canberra North suburbs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide home help services to aged care clients
- Perform general housekeeping and make beds
- Clean, mop and vacuum floors
- Wash, fold and iron laundry
- Prepare meals and complete grocery shopping
- Provide social support and transport to lifestyle activities
- Help family carers take a break or attend to other activities
- Work independently and find solutions to everyday problems
- Ask a manager for help when needed
Requirements:
- A valid Australian Driver's Licence
- Own insured, roadworthy vehicle
- An interest in community care or aged care
- 3–6 months previous experience in a similar role
- Must complete a Statutory Declaration prior to commencement
- Must complete a National Police check prior to commencement
- Must complete a Working Rights check prior to commencement
- Must complete a pre-employment functional assessment prior to commencement
