Job Description
Investigator payments lead managing clinical site budgets, contracts, vendors, and payment systems for Parexel’s global clinical research programs. Ensuring accurate, timely payments from study start-up through closeout.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the full lifecycle of clinical site payment administration from study start-up through closeout
- Manage protocol schedules of activities, per-subject costs, payment triggers, database build activities, start-up payments, EDC-driven visit payments, and invoiceable items
- Lead planning of payment activities and ensure systems are configured appropriately
- Assess EDC design and data collection processes for accurate mapping to budget structures and timely payment triggering
- Troubleshoot payment failures and drive resolution activities
- Review and guide configuration of site contracts and budgets within payment systems
- Oversee vendors, including payment approvals, invoice management, and query resolution
- Triage complex technology and process issues involving site relationships, budgets, contracts, regulatory requirements, languages, taxes, currencies, and related interdependencies
- Review study payment performance, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
- Ensure purchase orders are active and adequate funding is available for approved payments
- Support study-specific investigator payment audits when required
- Resolve site- and study-level payment escalations
- Ensure contracts, work orders, and funding support site payment execution
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience
- 2+ years of experience in clinical contracts and budget administration, accounting, finance, clinical project management, clinical operations, or a related field
- Knowledge of clinical operations, clinical protocols, and site budgets
- Demonstrated understanding of clinical site and vendor budgets and payment terms
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with clinical operations, business technology, legal, finance, tax, and other functional teams
- Proven ability to complete assignments, tasks, and projects with minimal supervision and make informed investigator-payment recommendations
- Ability to work independently in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
- Experience with EDC data and systems preferred
- Experience with industry payment-processing software and business requirements preferred
- Experience working for a Clinical Research Organization or sponsor preferred
- Knowledge of local tax and payment regulations preferred
- Experience supporting cross-border financial transactions preferred
