Job Description

IT Specialist supporting assessment events and integrating COTS solutions for Federal Government organizations. Providing IT support and troubleshooting for UMC operations in diverse environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Support assessment events by establishing local networks and integrating COTS solutions for testing with those networks
  • Support white cell operations with internet, satellite communications, handheld radio communications, and other IT equipment
  • Troubleshoot COTS systems and assist UMC and other assessment personnel in operating the same
  • Operate as part of a team by gaining and maintaining an understanding of an upcoming exercise
  • Arrange personal travel plans in accordance with Joint Travel Regulations to support assessment events
  • Establish local area networks that support UMC field operations
  • Act as network engineer and system administrator for the UMC team and designated exercise participants
  • Integrate COTS equipment as necessary
  • Provide recommendations on IT equipment necessary to support UMC
  • Familiarize with the equipment or applications to be tested/assessed and provide assistance to the rest of the team in its use
  • Develop professional products that would help UMC personnel and assessment participants to use equipment

Requirements:

  • 1+ year of experience in an IT-related position
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Valid U.S. Passport
  • CompTIA Security+ certification (or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft ecosystem tools, including Microsoft Office and SharePoint
  • Experience with Cisco networking tools and technologies
  • Working knowledge of VMware virtualization platforms
  • Experience administering and managing Active Directory
  • Experience implementing and maintaining DISA STIG compliance
