Job Description
Junior Accountant handling month-end close, payroll, and compliance at Mazzetti. Gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic AEC environment while developing strong accounting fundamentals.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with multi-company month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare and support journal entries related to month-end close.
- Complete assigned groups of balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis.
- Review account activity to identify errors, missing entries, or discrepancies.
- Support accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Process multi-state payroll under supervision.
- Support payroll-related activities including: Garnishments, W-2s and 1095-Cs.
- Assist with setting up payroll and tax requirements for new states.
- Review accounts payable transactions for accuracy and proper coding.
- Gain exposure to payroll, accounts payable, and broader accounting processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field with 3 years of relevant experience, or No degree with 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Prior experience supporting month-end close and reconciliations.
- Experience in an AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) environment strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience with Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint is a strong plus.
- Paylocity payroll experience and Vantagepoint experience are significant advantages.
- Ability to manage routine reconciliations accurately and consistently.
