Job Description

Junior Software Engineer building high-volume tracking and notification services for ShippyPro’s shipping and fulfillment platform. Developing cloud-native microservices with Python, TypeScript, AWS, and event-driven architecture.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and evolution of tracking and notification services
  • Write, review, and ship code that runs at high volume in production
  • Work with the engineering team on design decisions, code reviews, and day-to-day problem solving
  • Collaborate with a distributed, international team across product, engineering, and operations
  • Work with microservices, event-driven systems, and cloud-native development on AWS
  • Use AI tools daily as part of the development workflow

Requirements:

  • Strong foundation in software engineering fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, clean code, and version control
  • Hands-on experience with relational or NoSQL databases, including writing real queries and thinking about data
  • Genuine curiosity and willingness to figure things out
  • Enthusiasm for working with AI as a development tool and as part of what is built
  • Professional working proficiency in English
  • A degree in Computer Science or a related technical field (nice to have, not a blocker)
  • Experience with Python, TypeScript, or PHP (nice to have)
  • Familiarity with cloud services or distributed systems from projects, internships, or personal work (nice to have)
  • Knowledge of PostgreSQL, Aurora, Redshift, DynamoDB, AWS, Serverless Framework, Git, GitHub, and GitHub Actions is relevant to the stack
