Job Description
Systems Administrator responsible for maintaining Linux systems and automating tasks with containerization and infrastructure-as-code practices. Supporting production systems for a Government client.
Responsibilities:
- Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux-based systems in production environments.
- Deploy, manage, and support containerized applications using Docker and/or Podman.
- Support container orchestration platforms such as Docker Compose (deployment, troubleshooting, and operations).
- Automate system configuration and provisioning using Ansible.
- Develop and maintain scripts (Bash, Python) to automate routine operational tasks.
- Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and resolve incidents across infrastructure and application layers.
- Maintain system security, including patching, access controls, and certificate management.
- Provide support for Java applications using the Spring framework running on Tomcat with Nginx.
- Document system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
Requirements:
- Experience working in heavily regulated environments.
- 3 - 7+ years of experience as a Linux Systems Administrator.
- Strong experience with Linux system administration (RHEL, Ubuntu, or similar).
- Hands-on experience with containerization using Docker or Podman.
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible.
- Proficiency in scripting (Bash and/or Python).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
