Job Description
Korean Translator / Content Creator developing beginner curriculum for a flashcard web and mobile app. Collaborative role requiring creation and review of beginner language content.
Responsibilities:
- Advise on best practices for representing Korean in a digital flashcard format (e.g., script vs. romanization, diacritics, learner scaffolding)
- Provide feedback on learner challenges unique to Korean (e.g., script direction, pronunciation)
- Adapt our content template for beginner flashcards to create a full Korean beginner curriculum
- Write accurate and contextually appropriate translations for vocabulary and phrases
- Craft concise, beginner-friendly flashcard footnotes explaining grammar, pronunciation, or cultural nuances
- Review and edit content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and pedagogical soundness with our style guide
- Apply best practices from language learning tools and mobile flashcards
Requirements:
- Fluent in both English and Korean
- Bonus points for proficiency in a third language
- Experience teaching Korean or developing language learning content
- Ability to simplify complex grammar and cultural points for beginning learners
- Comfortable with online collaboration tools (e.g., Google Docs, Trello)
