Job Description

Lead Payroll Consultant at Next Level Strategies managing payroll tasks for diverse clients. Ensure accurate and timely payroll with a knowledgeable team to support diverse client needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage diverse tasks for a variety of clients with the support of a knowledgeable team.
  • Ensure accurate, timely payroll, efficient processes, and well-trained payroll consultants to give clients the best possible service.
  • Respond to payroll-related questions from employees at a variety of clients and own employees.
  • Interact with 401k and benefit providers.
  • Keep the rest of the Payroll Group on track.
  • Pull reports for a client’s accounting team.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience (8 – 10 years minimum) managing multiple clients and processing numerous payrolls each week in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ideal if you’ve worked successfully in a payroll leadership and also a consulting role in the past.
  • A keen eye for detail and organization is one of your many superpowers.
  • Ability to prioritize your workload and that of your team in a proactive, organized way.
  • A phenomenal communicator; Overcommunication? No. Such. Thing!
  • You excel at both verbal and written communication.
  • You are the Sherlock Holmes of payroll – naturally curious and a mystery solver.
  • Benefits, 401k reporting, and multi-state payroll experience.
  • Comfortable enough with California’s wage and hour compliance requirements to answer some compliance-related questions.
  • Familiar with an array of software platforms such as Paychex, Paylocity, Gusto and Rippling.
