Job Description
Finance and real estate lawyer reviewing blinded AI-generated legal deliverables for Mercor’s legal AI study. Comparing outputs and writing preference rationales to train frontier AI systems.
Responsibilities:
- Read a synthetic legal matter and its underlying documents
- Review six blinded AI deliverables labelled A–F
- Make five head-to-head comparisons against a common comparator output
- Write a short, specific rationale for every preference
- Evaluate legal work products for correctness, completeness, judgment, and usefulness
- Contribute human legal expertise to training and enhancing AI systems
Requirements:
- Qualified lawyer with substantive practice experience in senior secured credit facility markup review, project finance credit agreements, RMBS closing exception review, tenant-favourable commercial leases, and mixed-use development agreements
- Able to judge work product holistically for correctness, completeness, judgment, and usefulness
- Precise written English
- Able to work independently to written instructions and a deadline
- Commitment of approximately 30 hours across the engagement
- Must comply with NDA and confidentiality requirements
- External AI tools must not be used on project material
- Must be able to work as an independent contractor
- H1-B and STEM OPT candidates are not supported
