Job Description
Finance intern completing strategic projects at Amgen, a biotechnology company serving patients with serious illnesses. Analyzing financial data and presenting recommendations to finance leaders.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with Amgen’s finance leaders during a 10–13 week summer internship
- Complete a meaningful project tied directly to Amgen’s strategic and tactical goals
- Develop technical and financial skills and prepare a presentation for the greater finance organization
- Gain understanding of the assigned functional finance team and its contribution to Amgen’s success
- Participate in a week-long multidisciplinary case study competition
- Explore data, automation, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies to improve financial analysis, forecasting, reporting, controls, and decision-making
- Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends and develop insights
- Communicate recommendations to business partners
- Participate in meetings, networking opportunities, and career development events with Amgen executives and senior leaders
- Network with colleagues across the company and participate in Employee Resource Groups
Requirements:
- Expected completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing
- Expected continued enrollment in an accredited college or university following the internship program
- Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship program
- Must be available to work a full-time schedule
- Must be available to accept and commit to future full-time employment by July 2028, if offered
- 18 years or older
- Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s Degree program from an accredited college or university
- Minimum 3.0 GPA or equivalent
- Concentration in Economics, Business Administration, Biotechnology Management, Accounting or Finance
- Understanding of basic financial analytical principles
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues on complex assignments
- Prior work experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
