Job Description

Localization Specialist traduzindo e adaptando a plataforma global de aprendizagem Wayground para o português brasileiro. Garantindo qualidade linguística e adequação técnica ao público escolar do Brasil.

Responsibilities:

  • Translate, proofread, and adapt text for the platform, interface/UX, corporate website, internal systems, and related content
  • Monitor the implementation of translations in the product, checking context, formatting, truncation, and variables
  • Identify and report technical localization issues, such as cut-off text, exposed tags, improperly formatted variables, and encoding problems
  • Collaborate with Engineering to resolve localization issues
  • Maintain and continuously improve the Brazilian Portuguese glossary, style guide, and translation memory
  • Liaise with the Engineering team regarding character limits, variables, and interface components
  • Coordinate with the international team in English to clarify context, priorities, and deadlines
  • Perform linguistic quality assurance (LQA) by testing screens and user flows and comparing them with the original version
  • Adapt educational and corporate content to the Brazilian cultural, linguistic, and educational context

Requirements:

  • Native Brazilian Portuguese speaker (or native-level fluency), with excellent writing and proofreading skills and strong sensitivity to register and tone
  • Advanced English proficiency
  • Previous experience translating and/or localizing platforms, websites, software, systems, or other digital products
  • General technical understanding of digital products and basic software development/engineering concepts
  • Familiarity with internationalization (i18n) and localization (l10n), including variables/placeholders, character limits, pluralization, and JSON, XML, .po, and .strings files
  • Programming skills are not required, but you must understand technical elements when reviewing and adapting text
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple concurrent requests within project-defined deadlines
  • Experience with CAT tools or TMS platforms such as Crowdin, Trados, memoQ, XTM, Lokalise, or Phrase is a plus
  • Basic familiarity with Git/version control, JSON, HTML, or other markup languages is a plus
  • Education or experience in Languages, Translation, Linguistics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields is a plus
  • Experience with EdTech products or educational content aimed at Brazilian school audiences is a plus
  • Experience working alongside Engineering/Product teams in agile environments (Scrum/Kanban) is a plus
  • Participation in localization communities/events or relevant certifications is a plus
