Job Description

Loss Control Representative responsible for conducting risk assessments and servicing accounts in Western Wisconsin. Field-based position covering Madison to La Crosse from a home office.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct onsite calls to provide risk assessments and service to prospect, new quote and existing accounts
  • Risk Assessments include physical surveys, investigating risk exposures/accidents, analyzing risk experience, developing service plans and providing recommendations
  • Consult with underwriters to determine account and risk acceptability
  • Provide verbal and written correspondence to underwriting
  • Work with agents to foster and develop relationships and to secure new business
  • Effectively manage a service territory, work with customers to ensure safety planning is in place and conduct training presentations to business clients, large groups, or associations
  • Training presentations may be conducted in-person, and occasionally on a weekend

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in safety, loss control or related field
  • Demonstrates independence by servicing large/complex accounts of various classes of business with little guidance and shows the ability to successfully address and reduce loss drivers
  • Demonstrates a willingness to coach and mentor co-workers, take on advanced projects, engage with internal and external peers to solve problems, attend professional development conferences and/or is involved with professional associations to expand their network
  • Previous experience working for/with a multi-line insurance carrier
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proven interpersonal, presentation, marketing, oral and written communication skills
  • Problem solving, critical thinking, active listening, negotiation and decision-making skills
  • Valid driver’s license required
