Job Description

IT Service Manager leading Centene’s enterprise software asset management, licensing governance, and ITSM operations. Partnering across technology, finance, legal, and procurement to optimize compliance and costs.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership and direction in planning, developing, and maintaining Centene's IT service operations function
  • Provides oversight of enterprise system management and event management tools and their maintenance
  • Leads ITSM strategies, including collaboration with disaster recovery and business continuity teams
  • Manages the performance and reliability of the ITSM team by establishing and implementing technical and operational performance standards
  • Leads the enterprise Software Asset Management team
  • Oversees software license governance, optimization, compliance, lifecycle management, reporting, and operational delivery
  • Partners with Procurement, Finance, Legal, technology teams, software owners, and leadership using Flexera and related tools
  • Develops strategies and plans for implementing policies and procedures to ensure high quality and availability
  • Defines and maintains service operations KPI metrics
  • Oversees planning, hosting, and deployment of operational activities for IT service and support teams
  • Oversees batch processing, backup/recovery jobs, system health checks, system reboots, user account management, and system patching
  • Oversees enterprise event management tools, including maintenance, configuration, integration, and strategy
  • Manages hiring, training, performance reviews, leadership, technical guidance, and coaching for IT Service team members
  • Leads the team to ensure stable ITSM operations
  • Shares knowledge and develops staff capabilities
  • Manages the service operations budget, reporting, and forecasting
  • Develops and communicates organizational objectives and motivates team members
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related experience, or equivalent experience acquired through applicable knowledge, duties, scope and skill
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future
  • ITIL Foundations v3 required
  • Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, UNIX/Linux, Data Domain Storage, NetBackup, SolarWinds, Microsoft System Center or equivalent, current networking systems, and ITIL framework and practices desired
  • Ability to lead/manage others
  • Collaboration and team building skills
  • Ability to coach and deliver constructive feedback
  • Ability to communicate and make recommendations to upper management
  • Effective conflict management skills
  • Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills
  • Enterprise Software Asset Management and software licensing expertise preferred
  • Flexera or comparable SAM platform experience preferred
  • People leadership, coaching, and team development preferred
  • License optimization, compliance, renewals, and audit support preferred
  • Data analysis, reporting, dashboards, and data-quality management preferred
  • Process governance, controls, automation, and continuous improvement preferred
  • Cross-functional collaboration with Procurement, Finance, Legal, and IT preferred
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills preferred
