Job Description
Field IT Engineer supporting IT infrastructure, networks, servers, and Cisco VOIP for Republic Services’ waste and recycling operations. Providing remote and on-site field support across the USA.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure effective IT operations of field locations in alignment with Republic Services’ business objectives
- Plan, coordinate, and implement IT-related activities and projects according to company standards
- Provide level two support for WANs, LANs, field servers, and specific field applications
- Provide on-call and on-site support/remediation as required
- Liaise between field staff, management, vendors, and Corporate IT
- Identify, implement, and report proactive solutions that reduce costs or improve operational efficiencies
- Participate in installation, replacement, and disposal of field computer hardware
- Manage and maintain IT infrastructure at field locations
- Troubleshoot and administer Cisco VOIP phone system installations, including user additions, changes, and moves
- Coordinate with third-party consultants as required
- Manage vendor relationships for IT services, cabling, hardware, software, and IT supplies
- Provide timely activity reports as directed by management
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 4 years of computer network experience
- Experience with Cisco VOIP/UCCE
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification
- 2–4 years of experience supporting a decentralized IT environment, including end-user systems, local infrastructure, and overall IT services
