Job Description
Field IT Engineer supporting Republic Services’ waste and recycling field operations across the USA. Managing networks, field infrastructure, Cisco VOIP, vendors, and level-two technical support.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure effective IT operations of field locations in alignment with Republic Services’ business objectives
- Plan, coordinate, and implement IT-related activities and projects according to company standards
- Provide level two support for WANs, LANs, field servers, and specific field applications
- Provide on-call and on-site support/remediation as required
- Liaise between field staff, management, vendors, and Corporate IT
- Identify, implement, and report proactive solutions that reduce costs or improve operational efficiencies
- Participate in installation, replacement, and disposal of field computer hardware
- Manage and maintain IT infrastructure at field locations
- Troubleshoot and administer Cisco VOIP phone system installations, including user adds, changes, and moves
- Coordinate with third-party consultants
- Build and maintain vendor relationships for IT services and supplies
- Provide timely activity reports as directed by management
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 4 years of computer network experience
- Experience with Cisco VOIP/UCCE
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification
- 2–4 years of experience supporting a decentralized IT environment, including end-user systems, local infrastructure, and overall IT services
- Ability to provide on-call and on-site support/remediation as required
- Ability to troubleshoot and administer Cisco VOIP phone system installations
- Ability to coordinate with third-party consultants and vendors
- Ability to manage IT infrastructure at field locations
