Job Description

Managing Engineer leading cloud security engineering teams at Allstate, an insurer and protection-services company. Building reliable cloud controls across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop an engineering team delivering cloud security controls as software products, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and career development
  • Set technical direction and drive execution across the design, implementation, deployment, and production support of cloud security capabilities
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership through architecture and design reviews, technical decision-making, code reviews, and critical implementation work
  • Own the reliability, performance, effectiveness, and continuous improvement of production products
  • Partner with Digital Product Managers, platform teams, engineering stakeholders, and security stakeholders to align roadmaps, priorities, dependencies, and delivery plans
  • Build an engineering culture centered on test-driven development, pair programming, fast feedback, technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Translate complex cloud security needs into scalable engineering solutions, reusable patterns, and automated capabilities
  • Lead agile execution focused on delivery outcomes
  • Serve as first-level manager for a team of engineers

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of professional software, cloud, platform, or security engineering experience, including ownership of production systems delivering measurable reliability, performance, or security outcomes
  • 2+ years of experience leading and developing engineers through people leadership and hands-on technical guidance, including coaching, architecture reviews, design decisions, and code reviews
  • Deep experience securing cloud environments across AWS, Azure, and GCP, including cloud-native services, architectures, and security controls
  • Strong engineering proficiency with Python, Bash, Terraform, and cloud-native automation tools
  • Ability to translate security requirements and risks into scalable engineering solutions, reusable patterns, and automated controls
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex engineering initiatives, manage cross-team dependencies, and deliver measurable outcomes
  • Background investigation required
