Job Description
Music production expert evaluating Telugu generative music AI models for Mercor. Comparing songs, labeling musical attributes, and reviewing AI lyrics and vocals.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate generative music AI models in partnership with a leading AI lab
- Compare AI-generated songs head-to-head on musicality, creativity, prompt adherence, vocal quality, and production/mix quality
- Label songs by genre, structure, instruments, vocals, and other musical characteristics
- Review AI-generated lyrics and vocals against reference material for quality and accuracy
- Work across a wide range of music genres in Telugu and English
- Complete application and onboarding steps, including the Bilingual Competency Interview in Telugu
- Provide services on an independent-contractor basis
Requirements:
- Native or near-native proficiency in Telugu
- Ability to follow detailed written instructions in English
- 2+ years of experience as a music producer, audio engineer, or mixing engineer
- Headphones or studio monitors suitable for critical listening
- Formal training in music performance, theory, or composition (nice to have)
- Credited or commercially released production, engineering, or mixing work (nice to have)
- Broad familiarity with contemporary Telugu genres, sub-genres, and artists (nice to have)
- Ability to complete the Bilingual Competency Interview in Telugu
- Independent contractor engagement
- H1-B and STEM OPT candidates are not supported
