Job Description
National Security Analyst supporting U.S. Navy outreach events and public affairs at GDIT. Planning Fleet Weeks, Navy Weeks, executive engagements, and media activities.
Responsibilities:
- Provide public affairs and event planning support for Fleet Weeks, Navy Weeks, and Executive Engagement Visits across the U.S.
- Conduct market research on designated cities to inform outreach strategies
- Collaborate with teams via phone, email, and weekly conference calls
- Attend in-person meetings during site visits
- Identify and engage organizations, corporations, government officials, and community groups for Navy outreach events
- Plan and execute executive engagements, public events, volunteer opportunities, and community visits
- Construct and submit itineraries, trip books, and event schedules
- Serve as a media-engagement point of contact during planned engagements
- Monitor media activity generated by outreach events
- Conduct daily and special-assignment media searches
- Compile media reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Support the United States Navy’s Office of Communications Outreach and showcase Navy missions, equipment, and people
Requirements:
- Secret clearance currently required and must be able to obtain Secret clearance
- Minimum of 5 years of event planning and public communications experience
- Candidates with 2+ years may be considered for entry-level opportunities
- Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and other Microsoft Office products
- Experience in market research, event coordination, and media relations
- US citizenship required
- Travel required: 10–15% (listing also states 10–25%)
