Job Description
Online Learning Advisor facilitating positive learning experiences for students in the Bachelor of Information & Communication Technology program at Swinburne Online. Supporting academic success through engagement and feedback.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitating learning activities that engage and retain students
- Marking assessments and providing meaningful, constructive feedback
- Supporting communication through discussion boards, emails, and live sessions – ensuring visibility to students every 24-48 hours
- Collaborating with academic teams to maintain unit quality
- Upholding OES values to foster a positive team culture and student experience
Requirements:
- Minimum AQF Level 8 in a relevant ICT discipline e.g. Bachelor (Honours), Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, Master’s or PhD in ICT/Computer Science/Software Eng/Info Systems/Cybersecurity/Data/Networks/Cloud/DevOps/HCI-UX or other related field.
- Recent discipline experience in at least one teaching area (Software Dev/Web & Mobile; Networks & Cyber; Cloud/DevOps; Data/AI/Analytics; IS/BA; HCI/UX) or other related ICT field.
- Empathetic: Understand the challenges faced by online learners
- Organised & proactive: Able to manage time and responsibilities independently
- Tech-confident: Comfortable navigating online learning platforms
- Student-focused: Passionate about helping students succeed
- Flexibility to work sessional part-time: 8 hours per week. Hours may increase depending on assessment/marking cadences and the number of student groups you support.
