Job Description

Payments Sales Engineer supporting embedded payment solutions for CDK Global’s automotive dealership software platform. Advising sales teams, merchants, and technical stakeholders through payment integrations and implementations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide payments expertise and support to the sales team and prospective merchants
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of the payments industry, including trends, regulations, and technologies
  • Act as a subject matter expert on payment products and services
  • Collaborate with product development teams to ensure payment solutions meet market needs and compliance requirements
  • Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities within the payments space
  • Provide training and support to sales teams on payment products, industry trends, and competitive positioning
  • Engage with clients and partners to understand payment needs and develop tailored solutions
  • Stay abreast of competitive offerings and market dynamics to inform sales strategies
  • Build and maintain relationships with key technical stakeholders
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients
  • Work directly with stakeholders and vendors to ensure complete implementation and configuration of each merchant
  • Participate in industry events, conferences, and forums

Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of sales experience in the payments industry, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
  • Deep understanding of embedded payment processing technologies, including card-present and card-not-present
  • Strong knowledge of payment processing systems, gateways, APIs, and software integration
  • Strong communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to translate market insights into actionable sales strategies
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards relevant to payments
  • Ability to travel as needed to meet clients and support sales efforts
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Payments Professional preferred but not required
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment-based visa sponsorship
