Job Description
As Payroll Team Lead, manage a team and ensure high-level payroll service delivery in Germany. Focus on performance, team development, and client relationships in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage your team and ensure the highest level of payroll service delivery
- Organize, allocate, and monitor team activities
- Lead, support, and evaluate team members (team of 5 payroll specialists)
- Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and skills development
- Conduct regular one-to-one follow-ups with team members
- Manage workload, planning, and ensure compliance with internal processes
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment
- Drive service quality, productivity, and profitability
- Contribute to payroll process optimization and automation (in collaboration with technical teams)
- Monitor KPIs (SLA, performance, client satisfaction)
- Manage client relationships proactively and handle escalations
- Oversee key and strategic client accounts
- Supervise the onboarding of new clients
- Support teams during implementation phases
- Monitor the first months of service delivery to ensure a smooth transition
- Manage a small payroll portfolio to maintain hands-on expertise
- Contribute to transversal projects (audit, training, documentation, process improvement)
- Participation in pre-sales activities and business support
Requirements:
- Proven experience in German payroll, with strong technical expertise
- Experience with Datev payroll software is required
- Previous experience in team management or coordination is required
- Good understanding of HRIS/payroll environments
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Client-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Fluent in German
