Job Description

As Payroll Team Lead, manage a team and ensure high-level payroll service delivery in Germany. Focus on performance, team development, and client relationships in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage your team and ensure the highest level of payroll service delivery
  • Organize, allocate, and monitor team activities
  • Lead, support, and evaluate team members (team of 5 payroll specialists)
  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and skills development
  • Conduct regular one-to-one follow-ups with team members
  • Manage workload, planning, and ensure compliance with internal processes
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment
  • Drive service quality, productivity, and profitability
  • Contribute to payroll process optimization and automation (in collaboration with technical teams)
  • Monitor KPIs (SLA, performance, client satisfaction)
  • Manage client relationships proactively and handle escalations
  • Oversee key and strategic client accounts
  • Supervise the onboarding of new clients
  • Support teams during implementation phases
  • Monitor the first months of service delivery to ensure a smooth transition
  • Manage a small payroll portfolio to maintain hands-on expertise
  • Contribute to transversal projects (audit, training, documentation, process improvement)
  • Participation in pre-sales activities and business support

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in German payroll, with strong technical expertise
  • Experience with Datev payroll software is required
  • Previous experience in team management or coordination is required
  • Good understanding of HRIS/payroll environments
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
  • Client-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluent in German
