Job Description

Podcast Producer creating global narrative audio stories for Chalmers Center, a Christian nonprofit helping churches alleviate poverty. Researching, interviewing, traveling, and producing podcast episodes.

Responsibilities:

  • Research opportunities and develop story pitches
  • Travel, connect with people, ask questions, and gather audio tape around the world
  • Collaborate with the Head of Creative Media
  • Interview subjects and develop narrative audio stories
  • Help assemble a creative core team, including assisting with hiring an editor, field producer, and contract engineers
  • Work with the team to cut stories into final podcast episodes
  • Direct the production and contribute ideas directly in the editing timeline as needed
  • Explore faithful responses to poverty with organizations around the world
  • Share stories about what is working for people in poverty and the lives of Christ's disciples

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of audio production experience
  • Expert audio storyteller with a strong portfolio of narratives
  • Self-starting capacity to shape and own the vision
  • Able to connect with a wide range of people
  • Inquisitive follower of Jesus
  • Commitment to the Vision, Mission, and Values of the Chalmers Center
  • Active participation in the life of a local church community
  • Seek to apply the gospel to all areas of life, including interpersonal relationships
  • Use a humble listening approach with internal and external constituencies
  • Depend on the Holy Spirit and seek God's guidance when making decisions
  • Able to thrive in a team that practices excellence, humility, hope, and unity
  • Willingness to affirm a personal belief in Jesus Christ as part of the organization's mission and values
  • Preferred: Narrative audio editing experience
  • Preferred: Interdisciplinary background in community development, economics, sociology, anthropology, missiology, or theology
