Job Description
Product Designer shaping interoperable payment experiences for Wero, EPI’s European digital wallet. Translating complex multi-party payment requirements into accessible, user-centered journeys across markets.
Responsibilities:
- Conceive, design, and deliver implementable user interface flows for interoperable payment experiences
- Present and defend product design recommendations and Wero experience principles to senior stakeholders across EPI and partner organisations
- Act as a design reference for Interoperability experiences
- Collaborate with UX, Product, Engineering, Architecture, Risk, Compliance, and Operations partners
- Translate complex interoperability challenges into clear, usable interfaces covering routing, aliases, directories, payment statuses, settlement, reconciliation, refunds, disputes, fraud, compliance, scheme rules, and fallback states
- Provide design continuity from discovery and prototyping through specification, pilot, testing, integration, and rollout
- Ensure consistency, clarity, accessibility, usability, speed, security, and reliability as the ecosystem scales
- Nurture collaborative relationships with EPI colleagues and extended partner teams
- Contribute to inclusive and accessible design practices
Requirements:
- 6+ years of experience as a Product Designer in a product-led environment
- Track record of shaping complex digital products from concept to launch
- Strong background in end-to-end product design
- Advanced UI design skills
- Advanced proficiency in Figma
- Ability to balance craft, speed, and pragmatism
- Ability to maintain clear, well-structured design artifacts and documentation
- Experience translating regulatory, operational, and multi-party payment requirements into intuitive, user-centered solutions
- Experience designing complex payment ecosystems involving consumers, merchants, PSPs, banks, schemes, risk, compliance, and operations
- Experience building to AA standard
- Qualitative and quantitative research capabilities
- Ability to use research insights and data to inform design decisions
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working with senior leaders and external partners
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Fluent in English (CEFR C1 or C2)
- French, German, Dutch, or other European languages are a plus
- Comfortable working in a remote-first, multicultural environment
- Experience in payment orchestration, local payment methods, account-to-account payments, wallets, acquiring, financial services, or fintech environments is a plus
- Experience working in distributed or multi-market teams is a plus
- Proficiency with Slack, Miro, Microsoft Suite, Confluence, and Jira
