Job Description
Program Manager delivering HealthCorps healthcare career exposure, events, field trips, and coaching for West Virginia youth. Building local partnerships and supporting national workforce development.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute campus-wide health career exposure events across partner schools
- Recruit clinicians, allied health professionals, and other guest speakers for panels, demonstrations, and hands-on stations
- Organize field trips to college campuses, technical centers, healthcare facilities, and other career settings
- Handle transportation, school approvals, site coordination, guest confirmations, and troubleshooting
- Track grant milestones, including events delivered, students reached, and field trips completed
- Maintain accurate activity logs, trackers, and grant-reporting documentation
- Coordinate with the national Curriculum and M&E team to deliver healthcare career content consistently across West Virginia club sites
- Work with Regional Program staff and near-peer mentor facilitators to deliver career content in weekly club sessions
- Identify content delivery gaps and share improvement opportunities with the Curriculum team
- Coordinate individualized career assessment and coaching support for selected students
- Support student identification, scheduling, and logistics for coaching services
- Build and maintain relationships with hospitals, clinics, universities, and healthcare professionals
- Develop a network of guest speakers, panelists, and field trip hosts across West Virginia
- Represent HealthCorps at school and community events
- Prepare milestone reports with the Program Director of Appalachia
- Contribute to national workforce development efforts as needed
- Report to the Program Director of Appalachia
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of relevant experience
- 5+ years of relevant program management experience
- Experience in youth services, health education, workforce development, or university/community partnerships
- Based in West Virginia or close enough to travel throughout the state regularly
- Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing many moving pieces and deadlines
- Comfortable with outbound, relationship-building outreach
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Passion for connecting young people, especially in rural communities, to future opportunities
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain trackers and spreadsheets
- Self-starter comfortable building processes and relationships from scratch
- Ability to balance concurrent deliverables in a fast-moving, growth-stage environment
- Strong logistics and event-planning instincts
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Claude, and Canva
- Ability to travel extensively throughout West Virginia
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required
- Background investigation and/or reference check clearance required as a condition of the job offer
