Job Description
Construction Project Accountant overseeing accounting processes for energy infrastructure projects. Collaborating with management on budgets, financial analysis, and internal control development.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees accounting for projects including maintenance of the general ledger and the month-end close process.
- Works closely with the Construction Management team in budget and forecast preparation, project financial analysis, and development of internal control policies and procedures.
- Performs daily and monthly accounting processes including journal entries, account reconciliations and general ledger transactions.
- Prepares monthly client invoicing in coordination with the Program Management team.
- Enters subcontractor accounts payable invoices and manage needed cash disbursements.
- Assists in the preparation and analysis of financial information in accordance with GAAP.
- Prepares routine financial reports and ad-hoc reports for operational review and decision making.
- Provides analysis and recommendations to senior leadership by analyzing project financial performance, analyzing budget variances, and ensuring compliance.
- Assists with submission of information and necessary communication with internal and external auditors and responds appropriately to auditor comments and recommendations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 3+ years of accounting experience.
- Intermediate level skills in Adobe, Excel and other MS Office tools.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
- Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.
