Job Description
Publishing Manager responsible for organizing book projects at Bücherbüchse. Collaborating with authors and managing the creative process in a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for coordinating all aspects of a book project
- Selecting suitable external editors and proofreaders
- Planning the book’s production details, defining designs, and selecting and briefing appropriate designers
- Supporting our authors, including at events such as trade fairs and release events
- Communicating with other business partners, particularly agents
- Creating and managing cost calculations and license payments
- Working closely with various departments and informing all areas about relevant process steps
- Providing creative input to the marketing and events teams for event planning and book marketing
- Controlling all book-related metrics and keeping an overview — from sales figures to performance analysis
Requirements:
- Strong enthusiasm for books and reading
- Extensive knowledge of and interest in the Dark Romance genre
- Ability to work independently, organized and structured, with a strong focus on work quality
- A good feel for language and a keen eye for detail
- Commitment and motivation — whether working in a team or alone
- Strong communication skills in English and German, both written and spoken
- Team player, consistently reliable
- Hands-on mentality with excellent problem-solving skills
- Confident user of Microsoft Office products (especially Microsoft Excel) and Microsoft Outlook
- Comfortable using IT software solutions and web applications
- Basic experience in text editing/copyediting
