Job Description
Quality Assurance Engineer for testing software, ensuring quality for product development team and validating releases. Focus on bug detection and process improvement in a remote setup.
Responsibilities:
- Find bugs, defects, and regressions
- Design, implement, execute, and debug test cases and/or automated test scripts
- Validate and document completion of testing and development
- Verify fixes and help ensure successful releases
- Identify opportunities for improving processes, training and tools
- Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents
- Develop testing plans and scenarios in accordance with the technical specifications
- Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
- Identify, record, document, and track bugs
- Perform regular regression, exploratory and system testing
- Monitor and maintain bug backlogs for accuracy
- Leverage AI-enabled tools and analytics to enhance decision-making
Requirements:
- 6+ years professional experience
- Must have strong diagnostic skills to properly test software and measure the quality of the product
- Must have a technical background to be able to create proper testing scenarios from the functional requirements and detail specifications
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio and writing SQL queries
- Experience with QA testing on ERP type applications/systems
- A thorough understanding of administrative software for higher education and experience with automated testing tools are a plus
- Proficiency with at least one programming or scripting language a plus
