Job Description

Retention Marketer building B2B email and lifecycle funnels for Darkroom’s AI-powered growth marketing agency. Owning Shadow, Darkroom, and CEO newsletter acquisition, nurture, and conversion.

Responsibilities:

  • Own email and lifecycle marketing across Shadow, Darkroom, and the CEO's personal newsletter
  • Build Shadow's direct funnel from creator or LinkedIn content through email capture, nurture, and signup
  • Instrument funnels to identify which content produces signups
  • Own onboarding, activation, and product education sequences for Shadow signups
  • Run demo, webinar, and launch follow-up end to end
  • Build prospect and client nurture sequences by Darkroom service line
  • Own the strategy behind the biweekly newsletter with Marketing Ops handling deployment
  • Convert the CEO's LinkedIn and X audience into an owned email list
  • Supply the sales team with usable follow-up sequences
  • Manage segmentation, list hygiene, deliverability, and compliance
  • Write email copy and build flows personally
  • Report on signups and pipeline generated by each flow
  • Document flows for team visibility and execution
  • Report to the VP of Marketing and collaborate with a designer, video editor, Marketing Ops & Social Media Manager, and AI analytics layer

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of B2B lifecycle marketing and multi-week, multi-stakeholder sales cycles
  • Hands-on experience building lifecycle or email programs and flows
  • Platform-agnostic lifecycle marketing expertise
  • Strong analytical funnel optimization skills
  • Strong, direct, specific writing ability
  • Ability to work across software, agency-buyer, and personal-brand audiences
  • AI-native approach to analytics, reporting, and drafting
  • Comfortable owning a lifecycle marketing function from the ground up
  • Clear, fluent English communication with U.S.-based clients and senior stakeholders
  • Ability to work 9 am–5 pm EST; non-negotiable
  • Hands-on ESP experience with Klaviyo, HubSpot, beehiiv, Substack, or Mailchimp is a bonus
  • Experience marketing a SaaS or software product to a business audience is a bonus
  • Agency, ecommerce, or performance marketing background is a bonus
  • Experience building a newsletter or owned audience is a bonus
  • Familiarity with Notion is a bonus
